Food Hygiene Regulations require all food handlers to be supervised and instructed and trained in food hygiene matters.
Food hygiene is more than cleanliness; it includes all practices involved in food preparation/food manufacture. It is vital that all food handlers are aware of the hazards and controls associated with food production.
CIEH LEVEL 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering, Manufacturing and retail (for people with no previous experience in the food industry). Rigorous enforcement of food safety legislation is important but it is not, in itself, sufficient to prevent food poisoning. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and HABC have designed the level 1 course to give first tier workers an appreciation of the fundamentals of good food safety practice.
CIEH LEVEL 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering, Manufacturing and Retail (formally Foundation Food Hygiene). The aim of the Food Safety / Food Hygiene Level 2 Award programme structured to the CIEH or HABC Level 2 Award exam Food Safety in Catering, is to give delegates practical knowledge of the fundamentals of good practice and safe food handling.
CIEH LEVEL 3 Award in Supervising Food Safety in Catering, Manufacturing and retail (formally Intermediate Certificate in Food Safety). HACCP for Food Manufacturing Level 3 Award CIEH is a three-day training programme designed to ensure candidates develop the requisite knowledge and practical skills to implement a HACCP plan in their workplace.
